Presentation
Nicolas Dobkine, is a self-taught sculptor. In 2016, he decided to embark on a very in-depth, almost erudite ontological study of art. From this study will be born a theory, the humanist interpretative figuration and from this theory is erected a series "The 12 stages of the Human condition", experimenting with this new artistic paradigm. His first sculpture, made in 2020, is essentially part of a movement that can be described as "neo-pop expressionist".
In 2022, in parallel, Nicolas Dobkine decides to embark on action-painting and thus to divert illustrated magazine covers from the 40s, 50s and 60s.
Whether in sculpture or in painting, Nicolas Dobkine perpetually seeks a very assertive form of expressionism in his creations.
