Silvère Jarrosson
Painting - 15.7 x 11.8 x 1.2 inch
$2,259
Silvère Jarroson is a painter born in Paris in 1993. Dance is his main passion: He joined the Paris Opera at the age of ten. In 2011, an injury forced him to put an end to his dancing career. He then decided to travel around the world, to places where nature dominates, such as the Gobi Desert or the Amazons. Back from his solitary journeys, he began a biology course and started painting.
The artist practices dripping, a technique that consists in letting the paint flow on the canvas and giving it shape by manipulating the canvas, by moving the arms. This is why we can classify the artist's work as action painting, because he puts his body in action to paint. The physical action, patience and skill are necessary to paint this way, which is related to the artist's past as a dancer. The aspect of his paintings, resemble organic tissues or mineral elements, evoking his knowledge of biology. Thus, through his pieces, the artist seeks to link movements of the pigmenst, the body and nature. "There is a link between dance and biology, between dance movements and physiological movements, which artist, Wayne Mc Gregor managed to express in a choreography. I want to express through my paintings", says the artist.
Since 2014, Silvère Jarroson exhibits his work in France and abroad. In 2015, he started exploring new fields like the one in the video.
