Biography
Born in 1990 in Belle-île, Esteban Richard grew up in a territory marked by his relationship with the ocean, a heritage that determined his artistic commitment.
It was during his studies in art and design that he pursued, in parallel with his artistic practice, a professional career in oceanographic circles. Thus, he quickly joined as an artist, research laboratories in marine ecology, worked with NGOs, associations for the protection of the sea and even carried out artistic projects within institutions of scientific culture.
In this, Esteban Richard positions himself in a committed, efficient, educational and collaborative artistic approach. He gives his plastic production a didactic character thanks to which he intends to carry the voice of the ocean through the world of art while giving birth to the spectator, a new look, a new horizon, on new modes of uses and consumption, aiming to preserve the ocean.
Moreover, the multidisciplinary character that he summons in his approach also extends to the diversity of the mediums that he uses. Indeed, Esteban Richard does not limit himself in any way since his practice extends from sculpture to object design to drawing, passing through painting, photography and radio documentary-fiction.
