Germain Prévost is a French painter, born in 1981. He studied the environment and the quality of life between La Ciotat and Marseilles. This is when he studied the social environment of Cité des Arts de la Rue. A graffiti artist, known by the name Ipin, this experience led him to question the status of street art and graffiti.
Vasarely has made a major impact on the artist's universe and nourished his thought-process. The works of the painter are widely acknowledged by public institutions, they have been defining the cities since the 80's, which makes the artist say that Vasarely is the first "street artist". His works are very geometric, and draw inspiration from architecture as well. He looks for the perfect stroke and form, broken up due to an explosion which creates chaos in his work.
This aspect can be seen in his « Fat Poch » project, a true painting performance where his work is depicted on a wall, with the help of a canon often placed far away. This project triggered a series of paintings through the same procedure.
