Biography
Romain Laveille was born in 1979. A graduate of Fine Arts, cabinetmaker and creator of space, his work is born of a sensitive and tenacious, modest and playful artistic approach.
You will see here not his paintings of objects but his objects of painting, paintings that appear as insane structures with aberrant assemblages rising up on the paper like circus numbers in the center of a big top.
His compositions of colored brushstrokes, drips with uncertain trajectories and paint directly from the tube offer decorative but chaotic illusions. The desire to make the raw material lie is obvious, the meticulousness of the artist's gesture disappears behind the claimed spontaneity.
