After many years spent in Paris intramuros, and figurative painting, portraits, landscapes and still lifes, I began to think that the Subject had become invisible in the movement of the Parisian crowd, swallowed up by the power of the mass. This is how the Blue Papers were born, collages where the Figure little by little disappeared beneath the surface, the collages becoming more and more abstract over time.

Then there was covid, fortunately passed in Saint-Malo where I now live. Picking wild flowers from the embankments of this spring unlike any other, I was dazzled by their colors and shapes. Gilles Deleuze says that “Color springs from chaos. » So I reconnected with color, shape, childhood. The novelty ? The wooden support and the acrylic. And the fabulous lights of the Emerald Coast.
