Biography
Bokran is an engineer by training and a self-taught artist. One day he decided to break out of the narrow framework of everyday life, to free himself from programmed systems and codes and to let his imagination and creative instinct express themselves through painting.
He came to painting through abstraction, in convergence with music which he then practiced as an amateur, until current events hit him hard.
Climate change, the disappearance of species, migratory flows and their host of tragedies, the new configuration of the world impose a reality which will result in a new orientation of his creations.
When words alone are no longer enough to express the dismay into which this new situation plunges us, color and line become for him the most absolute way of expressing his emotion in the face of the decay of the world and future challenges.
They, today, we tomorrow perhaps, will be on the roads of exile. It is therefore both his concern and his proximity to this suffering humanity that he expresses through his painting.
