Biography
Isabelle Marie is a painter and textile designer. She holds a degree in arts from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne.
"My recent paintings are made on paper with mixtures of colored inks, watercolors and acrylics. The painted scenes are dreamlike, visionary and poetic. They constitute preparatory studies for larger format works.
My artistic creation explores the world of the living, borrowing the language of dreams. My paintings evoke images of nature and its multiple contrasts, on the border between the imaginary and the real, the visible and the invisible.
Plants, animals, the sun behind the clouds or reflections on the water constitute the motifs of the landscape which is built around an apparent perspective. The use of strong and acidulous colors allows to transmit the joy and the vivacity of the energy which surrounds and animates all things."
