Laurence Sallé-Bayon de Noyer

Coming from the worlds of ready-to-wear, upholstery fabrics, and photography, Laurence Sallé Bayon developed a keen sense of aesthetics. Her taste for materials, colors, and shapes quickly led her to the world of painting and wall hangings.

Hand-embroidered on burlap, her tapestries are the result of an intuitive search for balance between shapes, materials, and colors. She carefully selects her wool, cotton, and linen threads, which create abstract and colorful works. The revival of tapestry in the 1960s inspires the artist in her creations.
