Steeven Salvat is a French artist living in Paris, born in Menton in 1990. Passionate about drawing and painting since childhood, he draws his inspiration from nature and the living world, which occupy a central place in his work.
Influenced by artists such as Albrecht Dürer, Gustave Doré, Moebius, and Walton Ford, he places particular importance on precision and detail. His technique relies on fine, overlapping hatching, giving his works an appearance close to engraving, while infusing them with a subtle modernity. Each meticulously applied line evokes the passage of time and demonstrates remarkable patience.
His artistic universe plays on the duality between the living and the inert. He depicts animals, drawn with almost scientific rigor, which he combines with refined objects: pieces of goldsmithing, antique sculptures, or natural elements such as precious stones and plants. This fusion creates a captivating visual tension, where animality dialogues with artifice, the organic with artistic heritage.
Through a style that is both baroque and contemporary, Steeven Salvat reinterprets the aesthetics of ancient engravings while incorporating a modern sensibility. His work, fascinatingly precise, illustrates a delicate balance between tradition and innovation, between meticulous observation and refined imagination.
