Biography

I paint because I need to in order to survive.

I use oil because it is my favourite medium. I find it soft, sensual, inscribed in a slow temporality, and that suits my nature.

I don't seek originality or innovation at all costs; perhaps that's my unconventional way of being. There is no prior approach, reasoning or intention; the path reveals itself as I go along, with themes opening up to each other in a completely natural, unconscious way, emerging from necessity or desire:

Animals, taken for themselves or as symbols of humanity, portrayed as one would portray loved ones, or those we mourn. Childhood, facing life, facing death, joyful, sad, still pure, spoiled by the understanding of the world, or still enveloped in its dreams. And, entirely imaginary, intuitive, my inner landscapes, landscapes of states of mind.
