Sandrine Piegay

France

Hyperrealism in the service of emotion and visual storytelling. Art illustrator Sandrine Piegay explores through her work the boundaries between hyperrealism and visual poetry.

Biography

A self-taught contemporary artist, Sandrine Piegay explores the boundaries between hyperrealism and visual poetry in her work. Her art, marked by technical precision and emotional depth (fidelity to textures, perspectives, and subtlety of light), has captivated an international audience and earned her critical acclaim, notably with an official listing at Drouot and exhibitions in prestigious galleries and museums worldwide.

Born in Lyon, Sandrine Piegay fully embraced her artistic vocation in the summer of 2019. Inspired by her life experiences and encouraged by her encounter with the artist Jean-Luc Bouchaud (drawing, painting, photography...), she transforms drawing into a universal language, where each stroke becomes the reflection of an introspection and a collective memory.

A universe between reality and imagination

Sandrine Piegay draws her inspiration from the ephemeral and the timeless.

His work, initially rooted in hyperrealism, evolved towards a more symbolic language, where reality engages in dialogue with the imaginary. His portraits become settings for stories, blending the intimate and the universal, light and shadow, to reveal profound narratives and hidden emotions.

A visual signature: black and white

For Sandrine Piegay, black and white is much more than an aesthetic choice.

This minimalist approach enhances the intensity and depth of his works, inviting the viewer to a contemplative and personal reading.

An artistic career on the rise

From the very beginning, Sandrine Piegay established herself on the contemporary art scene. Today, she has become an international artist, having won numerous awards and exhibited her work all over the world.
