Olena Rachynska (Lyra)

Olena Rachynska (Lyra) (b. 1972, Luhansk region, Ukraine) is a Ukrainian-born visual artist, writer, and poet based in Lower Saxony, Germany. Her work has been presented internationally, including Expometro in New York (2023), The PERPETUAL Exhibition by INFLUKS Gallery (2023), The Alchemical Art in Australia (2024), and Top Selection at Galerie Thuillier in Paris (2024).

Language was Olena Rachynska's first creative medium, with her poetry and prose published in literary anthologies and periodicals. In 2020, she turned to painting as a way to explore experiences that could no longer be contained by linear language.

Working primarily in acrylic on canvas, with texture paste, gold leaf, and mixed media, Olena Rachynska explores memory, transformation, multidimensional perception, and the threshold between visible reality and the unseen. Portals, symbolic figures, crystalline cities, organic structures, and luminous fields recur throughout her visual language.

Her paintings begin with an intuitive rhythm, color, or inner tension and develop through layered surfaces and symbolic forms. Rather than illustrating fixed spiritual ideas, Olena Rachynska creates perceptual spaces where personal memory meets universal symbols and material reality encounters the unknown. Her work invites viewers to consider reality not as a stable image, but as something layered, shifting, and open to multiple forms of experience.
