Biography
Roger Drouin discovered graphic arts at a very young age and taught himself drawing, pen and gouache. Encouraged by his teachers, he developed a particular sensitivity for sanguine and pencil drawing, techniques which marked his early creations.
After an initial artistic period and a few exhibitions in Toulouse at the end of the 1970s, notably under the impetus of the painter and sculptor André Paltrie (APAL), his professional career temporarily distanced him from creation.
In the early 2000s, he rediscovered his early inspirations and gradually moved towards sculpture from 2006 onwards. In 2008, he created the sculpture for the roundabout at the entrance to the village of La Gaude, in the Alpes-Maritimes, a work which met with great local success and led him to develop several creations around the theme of jazz.
Since 2010, Roger Drouin has exhibited regularly in the Alpes-Maritimes and the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. Based in La Gaude, he continues his artistic work today, alternating between sculpture and personal creations.
