Biography

Ghislain Moret de Rocheprise, also known as Guilin, is a French digital artist born in 1972. After starting his career at the CNRS (French National Centre for Scientific Research), he forged connections between art and science and turned to creative work, exploring various aspects of digital technologies for creating images and volumes. Since 2019, Guilin has focused on exploring multiple photography.

He explores the boundaries between figurative and abstract art, delving into the very heart of a 3D capture of the world. He magnifies the imperfections of technological processes, creating works that question our relationship to reality, illustrate certain ambiguous relationships with truth, speak of our incompleteness, and celebrate the freedom of uncertainty. Guilin draws his inspiration from the confrontation between multiple realities: the reality of our contemporary, scientific, technological, and egocentric civilization; the reality of our biosphere, simultaneously impacted and indifferent to our actions; and the reality of the sensory world, perceptible, invisible, or tangible depending on the intensity of attention each individual chooses to invest in each moment.

The "Deep in flowers" series invites us to change scale, and to immerse ourselves and lose ourselves inside a maelstrom of vegetation.
