Biography

Jacques Gatti was born in 1927 in Algiers into a family of marble artisans. He worked in Charles Rau's workshop in 1950, a workshop well-known to all Algiers residents for its artistic and advertising creations for films. His solo and group exhibitions since 1942 have earned him numerous awards, including the Georges Hyon Prize in 1982, a Gold Medal at the 1985 St-Raphael International Exhibition, the People's Choice Award in Sainte-Maxime, and an award in Six-Fours that same year.
