Bronze Sculpture for Sale
Isabelle Hennessy (born in 1958) is a contemporary French artist. Her work explores the boundaries between figuration and abstraction through sensitive compositions and a nuanced palette.
As a child, Isabelle Hennessy already loved to draw. She admired her maternal grandfather, the painter Olivier Flornoy, a Prix de Rome winner. Hesitant to express her desire to become a painter, she worked as a Red Cross nurse, traveling the world for 12 years. She then entered the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, studying in Jean Leduc's studio from 1988 to 1993, before joining Mac Avoy's.
Isabelle Hennessy received first prize at the Salon des Peintres du IIIe Arrondissement de Paris in 1991, and held a solo exhibition in the town hall there two years later. The Friends of the Saint Calais Museum awarded her first prize at the Salon des Arts in 2012. Her second solo exhibition took place in 2014 at the Galerie Bansart, followed by another in 2017. She received the jury's special prize in Poncé-sur-le-Loir during the Maxime Maufra Painters' Day in 2018. In 2019, she participated in the diocesan exhibition "Sainte-Geneviève, Patron Saint of Paris," and in 2020 in the group exhibition "Small Formats" at the Petite Galerie, rue de Seine in the 6th arrondissement of Paris.
Isabelle Hennessy continues to participate in trade shows and exhibitions, and creates large-scale decorations for interiors, events, and theatrical productions. She exhibits annually at the Michael Lonsdale Gallery on rue de Bourgogne in Paris, and regularly at the Louis Barrand Gallery.
