Bastien Campistron

My name is Bastien Campistron, I am 31 years old. I live in the southwest in the heart of the Sauternais. Fascinated by wildlife for many years, I have done everything to be in contact with nature as often as possible. My studies led me to the BTS in management and nature protection where I developed my knowledge and learned to raise public awareness. Today, my passion has become my profession. I work on a peninsula called the Île de Raymond. I have its guardianship to restore it ecologically and to follow what is happening there. It is important for me to do everything possible to safeguard our ecosystems. When I leave this piece of land, the observation of nature continues this time, a travel companion: my camera. It has been 4 years now that I cannot do without it. I have a deep admiration for nature, an inexhaustible source of inspiration… Forests, fields, mountains, rivers, environments that I traverse to photograph, with the greatest respect, wildlife. Hidden in my camouflage clothing, I cut myself off from society to abandon myself, to fade into the landscape. Alone from people, I have wonderfully intense moments in nature. A silhouette, a light, an exchange of glances with wild animals, all these privileged, ephemeral moments give me the sensation of being in the real, I feel alive. Today, I have the desire to share each of the moments lived with as many people as possible. To show the world how much wildlife is all around us, how important it is for our well-being, and that we must protect it. I hope that my images will make people desire a harmonious life between humans and the wild world.
