William Marcheval

A rich and eclectic journey

Born in 1957 in Villeneuve-sur-Lot, William Marcheval followed an atypical path, mixing academic training, professional experience, and artistic passion.

After obtaining his high school diploma at the age of 17, he joined the army where he acquired solid technical skills, particularly in computer engineering and economic sciences.

Starting in the 1980s, he began a career in the business world, holding various management positions in commerce and communication. At the same time, he developed expertise in the field of digital and graphic design, founding his own company.

The call of art

His passion for art led him to pursue training in applied arts, and then to study drawing and painting at the École supérieure des beaux-arts de Nîmes. From the 2000s, he decided to dedicate himself professionally to his artistic practice.

A unique artistic universe

William Marcheval's work is characterized by a constant search for emotion and movement. His canvases, often inspired by the world around him, invite the viewer on a journey between reality and imagination.

His influences are multiple, drawing as much from the world of fantasy and fantasy as from the work of great painting masters such as Turner, Caillebotte, Degas, Picasso, Dali, Magritte, or Hopper.

Techniques and inspirations

Marcheval favors acrylics and oil painting, notably using the techniques of glazing and sfumato to create effects of depth and mystery. His preferred colors are earth pigments, while blue and white dominate in his watercolors.

He also explores soft pastel, a medium he appreciates for its sensuality.
