Patrick Brochard

I am a self-taught pastel artist based in Rennes and a member of the *Société des Peintres de Montagne* (Society of Mountain Painters). A hospitality school graduate, I still work in the restaurant industry. I have loved drawing since childhood. My passion for pastels truly took hold following the International Pastel Exhibition in Brittany in 2022. I began by painting seascapes and then still lifes using pastel pencils on small-format paper. I subsequently turned to mountain landscapes, which have now become my primary source of inspiration. I enjoy painting high peaks using luminous, delicate colors and precise linework—a style that earned me a feature in *Pratique des Arts* magazine in April 2023. That same year, I was honored to win the Public's Choice Award at the *Journée des Arts* (Arts Day) in Rennes' Thabor Park.
