Description
A still life of great technical precision. The pastel captures the grainy and matte texture of the fruits with remarkable accuracy. Shades of golden yellow dominate the composition, contrasting with the deep darkness of the background.
The light sculpts the volumes and emphasizes the roundness of the forms. Every detail is treated with care, from water droplets on the skin of the fruits to the delicate veins of the green leaves.
The whole rests on a raw wooden support, whose grain and roughness bring an organic touch. The play of shadows creates a realistic depth.
The artist favors a fine line and a meticulous approach. This work highlights a mastery of pastel to render the fragility and freshness of the subject.
The composition balances the saturation of the vegetal colors and the neutrality of the dark setting. The work ends with a discreet signature in the bottom right.
Presentation
I am a self-taught pastel artist based in Rennes and a member of the *Société des Peintres de Montagne* (Society of Mountain Painters). A hospitality school graduate, I still work in the restaurant industry. I have loved drawing since childhood. My passion for pastels truly took hold following the International Pastel Exhibition in Brittany in 2022. I began by painting seascapes and then still lifes using pastel pencils on small-format paper. I subsequently turned to mountain landscapes, which have now become my primary source of inspiration. I enjoy painting high peaks using luminous, delicate colors and precise linework—a style that earned me a feature in *Pratique des Arts* magazine in April 2023. That same year, I was honored to win the Public's Choice Award at the *Journée des Arts* (Arts Day) in Rennes' Thabor Park.
