Biography

Born in 1986, Chloé Silbano graduated from the Beaux-Arts de Paris with the jury's highest honors. It was there that she collaborated with a group of astrophysicists. A painter, sculptor, performance artist, and videographer, she crafts the objects she uses in her performances herself, subsequently incorporating them into her canvases, where body and object engage in a dialogue. Her series bear titles that speak volumes: *Rapports de force* (Power Dynamics) and *Plombé* (Weighted/Plumbed).

Winning the Yishu8 Prize in 2020 led to a residency at the Maison des Arts in Beijing. This was followed by exhibitions at the National Art Museum of China, the Beidaihe Art Center, HDM Gallery, NanKe Gallery, and Astra Art Gallery, as well as at Winland in Hangzhou and Beijing—curated by Mathieu Mercier and Amel Nafti.

Invited by the *Observatoire de l'Espace* (Space Observatory) of the CNES (National Centre for Space Studies) in 2022–2023, she developed a project there titled *Impesanteur* (Weightlessness).

That same year, an ADAGP grant enabled her to publish her first monograph, *Ces derniers temps* (Lately), with Lord Byron Editions. The book—published in French, English, and Chinese—chronicles her time in China and features a text by art critic Michel Nuridsany.
