Biography

Frédérique Deleuze is an artist-painter born in 1960. She lives and works in Paris and Rouen. Frédérique Deleuze finds her inspiration in everyday life, she can also sample images like rappers do and assemble them like cinematographic crossfades. New York is one of her favorite subjects, she goes there very regularly. We are overwhelmed by all kinds of images, too numerous to have the necessary perspective on their meaning and their impact on our lives. The short term has taken over. Frédérique Deleuze delivers, in her neo-realistic vision, this profusion of representations of the world through the reading grids that are: the media, the cinema, her own life, as a testimony of her itineraries. What may appear in the first degree as decorative, reveals a more subtle depth that only a hindsight on the time can reveal. She often puts the past and the present in perspective in her reinterpretation of "art history standards", including contemporary gimmicks. This is why she calls all of her work: "Images of the 21st century" or "spit out". She has participated in many exhibitions such as French artists at the Grand Palais in Paris and in many personal and group exhibitions.
