Marie-Ange Kedissa: Painter Marie-Ange Kedissa is a passionate autodidact, who began painting in 2004, by accident. Her best friend, painter and watercolourist, gives her a blank canvas and offers her to express herself. Marie-Ange immediately turns to an abstract painting, dense and all in volume. The experience makes him want to pursue and seek something even deeper. During one of her many trips, she met, in Senegal, the painter and leader of contemporary art in the country, Souleymane Keita. This confirms her idea of research into the material, a major element of her work. Since then, Marie-Ange Kedissa has been experimenting with different tools in order to develop her work. To find new effects, she uses, for example, plasterer's spatulas, rollers, combs, etc. Concerning the materials, the artist works with extra-fine "Schmincke" oils, for their maneuverability and their finesse, "williamsburg USA" oil pigments, renowned for their intensity and color, as well as "Old Holland" pigments for their high lightfastness and unparalleled color strength.
