Biography

Christophe Fort was born in Marseille on May 29th, 1973. After taking courses at the Pierre de Coubertin printing school in Carpentras he joined the family printing house where he worked for 10 years as an offset conductor then workshop manager. Along with these professional activities he draws and paints.

In 2000 the footballer Eric Cantona bought him the whole lot of paintings of his first exhibition. This success encouraged him to turn a page of his life and he began his career as a painter. He then exhibited in London, St Tropez, Paris, St Petersburg, Dubai. From his travels in Russia and the United States he brings back posters that he cuts, lacerates, transforms and integrates into his works.

His art belongs rightfully to Pop Art, both by the mix of techniques used and by the choice of his subjects and characters. Although they are universally known, they avoid the endless "Marilyn Monroe", "James Dean" and other "Audrey Hepburn" which many of his colleagues from Pop art certainly make an abusive use. His choices bring him more towards painting and artists than rock or movie stars. Thus, in his works, pass those of Warhol, Matisse, Van Gogh and many others. But always revisited, "iconoclasted", never like mere quotes
