Agathe Singer

Agathe Singer is a Paris-based illustrator, having left her childhood home in Normandy aged 17. Her three years studying at the École Supérieure des Arts Appliqués Duperré gave her a taste for drawing and painting, as well as the chance to experiment with her illustration style. This was followed by two years at Penninghen, which consolidated the graphic design aspect of her work and ultimately determined the future of her artistic career. Her qualifications in graphic design and artistic direction allowed her to work first in a luxury advertising agency, then in a creative office as a graphic designer. Today, she has the job of her dreams and works as a freelance illustrator, thanks to the home decor and perfume ranges that she illustrated for perfume house Fragonard and fashion designer Arthur Arbesser.

Singer's media of choice is gouache and watercolour which she uses to create her naïve universe and non-naturalistic interpretations of flora and fauna. Her imaginative depiction of birds, flowers, cats and foliage creates instinctive paintings with a hypnotising poetry that invites the spectator into a dreamlike world.
