Biography
Marie Denis was born in 1972 in Bourg-Saint-Andéol, in the Ardèche. She lives in Paris and works everywhere. After studying at ENBA in Lyon, she boarded at the Villa Medici in 1999. Her installations, sculptures and objects are designed from raw or diverted materials and take pleasure in diverting the rules, landmarks and know-how to poetize them. "My practice is nourished by all the stimuli, the vivid, irrational and concrete impressions of life, which are for me like the oyster makes its pearl: An accident which produces an enchantment".
