Biography

Dufert is a self-taught painter born in 1965.

Influenced by the illustrators of the 1970s, he began to paint science-fiction universes and then turned to various currents of abstraction such as concrete art, neoplasticism, geometric abstraction and kinetics.

At the same time, he joined a graphic art school which led him for a time towards advertising. Passionate about music, he creates a group with a free jazz tendency enamelled with happenings.

He participates in group and individual exhibitions and in the creation of a mural which allows him to acquire the techniques for the realization of monumental pieces.

His work is divided into several “Systems” resulting from his research on the division of space and the interaction of color. The introduction of elements in relief, real or not, suggests a notion of multi-dimension. In a first reading, he wishes to provoke in the spectator a visual emotion which in a second time is transformed into reflection on our perception of the universe.

It is present in the Jean and Colette Cherqui collection.

He lives and works in Marseille.
