Alexandre Ouairy is a French designer and artist, born in 1980 in Nantes. He studied at Ecole supérieure d'Art in Grenoble and graduated in 2004. He is also known under the name Tao Hongjing, an entirely invented Chinese artist and it remained this way for 10 years, in order to make a name in the world of art. He now lives and works in Shanghai.
Alexandre Ouairy works on existing links between structured thoughts and artistic creation. He is interested by the way law and regulations shape up the world of design, town planning and society in general. The artist wants to highlight those things which aren't easily spotted in reality. This is the reason why he works with new visual codes.
Alexandre Ouairy often exhibits in Europe and Asia. He also participated at the Lyon Biennial and presented his works at Palais de Tokyo in Paris, not to mention the Contemporary Art Museum of Moscow.
