Alain Grosajt

Alain Grosajt was born in 1943, in Paris. He lives and works in Monteux in the Vaucluse.

Alain Grosajt entered painting with a full stride with Twombly and Tapiès as guides. Tireless worker, he covers the canvas with hundreds of signs, creating his own writing, inventing his memory, patching up the painful 20th century with painting. Nourished by his inner journey, but also by the encounter with other landscapes – in Oceania, in the Southwestern United States, in Vietnam or even more recently in Brazil – his art stands on the thread of a singular destiny. Images and sensations intertwine in the painter's mind who traces the course of his thought on the canvas.
