Born in Strasbourg in 1975, Maxime Acker left the plastic arts school in Strasbourg in 1999 and moved to Toulouse where he joined the artist collective "Mix-Art Myrys".
His practice is multidisciplinary. He has produced installations which is expressed with an antagonism, in tension between industrial symbols and immediate nature.
In 2010 he went back to sculpture, wich finally lead to the series "IN.HUMAN". It is a series which draws its origins from popular culture, but by presenting a very different vision from the one of pop art: a vision that has evolved, it is more dark, more contemporary...
In the IN.HUMAN series the artist is interested in animals. He tries to open an entry point for understanding the works between the hard cold steel texture or the aluminum texture and a certain (maybe childish) figuration.
