Armed with his brush, oil, china ink or watercolour, Julien Gorgeart builds and imagines his painting as one sometimes misses his photos...
Fixing the lens on an incongruous detail, aflash point at a person, like snapshots taken at the moment, Gorgeart paints sometimes the banality of everyday life, sometimes parties or night outings.
Inspired by his own experiences, the stories of his loved ones or strangers, the artist figs in his canvases anonymous stories, ephemeral moments.
His works are pictorial images inviting us to explore the fascinating intersection between realism and illusion, between painting and photography. .
