The human being is a being of light, but often forgets to turn on its own light.

Biography

Jérôme Guime is a French artist born in 1985.

A sculptor and designer, Jérôme Guime is a passionate self-taught artist. At first he was a decorator and then gradually discovered design, scenography and composition, he then started creating pieces increasingly elaborated. His work is influenced by the furniture made by Ingo Maurer, Garouste and Bonetti.

He works with raw material, burnt wood or metal. He opposes the materials by playing on an audacious confrontation of materials between raw and refined. He creates his objects directly in the material by playing with improvisation, hazard and potentialities. The results is a cut in the line, smooth on the surface, the furniture or the object of decoration goes through a metamorphosis when sculpted.
