Biography
Scenographer-plastic artist, graduate of the National School of Decorative Arts, Virginie Rochetti works as a visual artist, mixing painting, performance, embroidery and installation (Henry Clews-La Napoule Foundation, Banlieue Bleue Festival, Chartreuse de Villeneuve-lès-Avignon , Poetry garage…). She has exhibited at the Saatchi gallery in London for the Collect show, at the Collection gallery in Paris, at the Manufacture in Roubaix with the Fiber Art Fever collective, at the Maison des Arts d'Evreux, the Revue Parlée du Center Pompidou, the Usine gallery, l'Oeil Public gallery, Albert Chanot de Clamart Art Center ... She participated in the 11th Biennial of Contemporary Textile Art in Kaunas in Lithuania, at the Mexico Biennale. She creates artist's books with Fabienne Yvert (Le club des cartes, livre embroidered, 2008, The invitation to travel, book embroidered, 2011), performances (Why the horizon does not follow the twisted bar of the balcony, Maison of poetry, Paris, Martigues media library, IMEC…). Illustrator, she worked with Éditions Actes Sud Papier, Le Pommier, Harpo &, Rouleau Libre… For 15 years, she designed the scenographies of Jacques Rebotier's shows (Ircam, Center Georges Pompidou, Théâtre des Amandiers de Nanterre, Théâtre National de Chaillot , National Theater of Strasbourg, Friche Belle de Mai in Marseille, Théâtre du vieux colombier, 38e Rugissants…).
