Dark Shield was born in 1985, in France.
He lives and works between Paris and Provence. If this artist studied at ICART and the Sorbonne after his baccalaureate, he began his colorful frenzy at the age of 15 in the French Graffiti Crew “ER” under another “Blase / name”.
Dark Shield intertwines profusely colored lines, between geometric abstraction and futuristic composition.
His inspiration ranges from modern abstract artists, Piet Mondrian, Victor Vasarely to futuristic Italian painting, Giacomo Balla, Carlo Carra, through contemporary abstraction from Mark to Grotjahn, Sarah Morris.
He offers us a painting entirely carried out with aerosol, treated with numerous overlays, elaborated with masks, scotches or stencils.
Dark Shield's canvases mature with a slow and meticulous elaboration where the abstract universes are complicated by successive layers, which gives rise to abstract landscapes which are true futuristic and imaginary journeys.
The choice of colors, the composition of colliding perspectives, created bridges, links, breaks, voids, offering us a rhythm, a fleeting sensation captured in the moment.
The effervescence of our ever faster society transpires from his painting.
This artist takes more place in geometric abstraction than in the Street-Art movement that he does not claim.
