Student at the Fine Arts of Versailles where he met Michel Journiac in the mid-1970s, Jean-Luc Moulène continued his training at the University of Paris 1 and obtained a master's degree in Fine Arts in 1979. He then worked for ten years. 'years as an artistic advisor in the Thomson group. In 1989, he decided to devote himself mainly to his creative activities. He first taught at the National School of Communication, Art and Design in Nancy, then at the École Supérieure Art et Design in Amiens and finally at the École d'Art in Grenoble. He gave up teaching in 1999 and has devoted himself exclusively to his artistic activity ever since. Moulène's first significant exhibitions took place in Paris, at the J & J Donguy gallery, in 1985 and then in 19891. Represented by the Galerie Anne de Villepoix, he then quickly acquired a European dimension with exhibitions in Belgium, Germany and France. Greece, Spain, Poland ... From the end of the 1990s and after joining the Chantal Crousel Gallery in the early 2000s, he also exhibited in Asia, the Middle East and Latin America, in particular in Japan, Lebanon, Brazil and Mexico. His first major solo exhibition in North America, organized by Dia: Beacon, took place in 2011.
