Presentation

An emerging artist, KLP is passionate about the eternal icons of our popular culture, those who populate his musical, cultural and artistic imagination. Rock stars, super heroes, historical personalities resuscitate on his paintings in a lively and colorful universe. Like a biographer who studies the journey of a life in great detail, the artist gives us at a glance the major stages of their epic. In a subtle mix of materials mixing collages and acrylics, KLP plays with words to give his paintings a second level of reading.

Short words, like hastily written graffiti on a wall, a poster, a door, a bus stop, which are all stealthy messages delivered to strangers passing by.

The poster that serves as a starting point becomes the symbol of the passage of time and of the impact of these cultural figures and their heritage on our generations. Old posters on the palisades and walls of his city, Montreuil, also nourish his reflection. Torn and faded by rain and sun, he loves to reveal their authentic poetry.

KLP's works are seen through the prism of Pop Art and Street Art. From these movements, the artist retains the visual codes, energy, spontaneity and also sometimes invites us to detach from the shimmering and attractive aspect of the canvas to decipher a more committed message about our society.
