Sylvie Samy

Sylvie Samy is a self-taught French painter. She is closely interested in the Italian revival through Vinci, Botticelli or still Véronèse.

Her diploma of restoration of picture allows her to get acquainted with the numerous techniques of paint. She discovers it the use of the color, the forms and the compositions. Since 1997, she passes on her knowledge with her pupils in her painting workshop.

Since the 2000s the painter does not stop enriching its technique and set its heart on the oil paint. Today thanks to her knowledge, Sylvie Samy allows to revisit this ancestral technique to retranscribe her ideas. The artist favors the abstract and contemporary art.

Thanks to the rhythm, thanks to the space and thanks to full report/empties, she embodies her internal worlds. Years passing, paintings become more sophisticated, meticulous and airy. Close friend of the calligraphy and Asian arts, Sylvie Samy pursues a timeless work. An originality noticed and assumed, underlined by a big creative strength: give birth to rich works, filled with fragility and with refinement. Sylvie Samy having a taste pronounced for the literature, enriched by its musing and by her knowledge to deliver us a singular pictorial writing. She sees her painting as a poetry, with a grammar, an atypical vocabulary and gives us to see a completely personal world.
