Painting is a poetry that one sees rather than listens to.

Biography

Born in Marseilles on 8th March 1939, Georges Terzian is a painter of Armenian origin. He started drawing and painting during his childhood: he joined the beaux-arts Marseilles at the age of fourteen. He ended his training a year later. However, he did not stop painting in his workshop, which was located in Sainte-Miter, near Marseilles. He moved to Paris during the 60's. He studied music with Jean Lumière, this experience made a solid effect on his soul as an artist.

Initially, Georges Terzian drew inspiration from impressionism and painted like Cezanne, these included outdoor Provencal landscapes. Soon after he reached Paris, the artist's style evolved and turned towards cubism. He provided his very own interpretation of this movement, which was initiated ten years earlier by Braque and Picasso. His oil paintings are like a symphony of color, where the artist treats the form, idea but also the portrait.

After personal exhibitions in Paris, several collectors (public and private ones) bought his works in France and abroad, especially in London and New York.
