Biography
Yves Cailaud is a self-taught artist, he started with photography at the age of 18
Photography is a material that he explores to infinity : assemblies, solarizations, colorization ... but black and white remains his favorite.
Yves then works on collages, first on paper and then in large formats where he assembles objects found in the street, newspapers, architectural plans, plants, posters, photographs ... and painting. His compositions talks about the world around us, the proliferation of signs of our modern society. Since 2006, he undertook various new abstract series, including the series "Great Hiking", large paintings done by affixing many layers with large squeegees in Plexiglas. These paintings will reveal "fragments of reality", or landscapes, for others city lights.
