Biography
Annick Claudé was born in 1961 in Épinal. She will study at the School of Fine Arts of Saint Etienne (1981-1986). Engraving, like a vocation! “ I draw because I don't know how to do it. With the drawing I want to create a poetic imagination stripped down, with a line that plays on shapes and brings to life, that of everyday life close to nature, the work focusing on the theme of the cow. The spontaneity of the engraving line, the absence of gum, lead to accidents which give the engraved drawing its uniqueness, like life. "She has exhibited in several countries, notably in France, Japan, Greece and Italy. It should be noted that she exhibited her engravings at the Galerie La Hune in Paris in 1992. Annick Claudé was distinguished by the first Lacourière engraving prize in 1991 and by the Grav'x Foundation prize in 1997. “Her art imposes good humor. From the aggressive and manual work of engraving, it gives birth to a personal airy, light, almost impalpable world, ”writes Fabien Gastelier (Cahier de la greenhouse, n ° 28).
