Maude Le Duc

Born in 1982, Maude Le Duc is a self-taught ceramist who works stoneware with plaque and columbine that she decorates with her own engobes.

Its characters are the inhabitants of a universe where those of Marjane Satrapi, Tomi Ungerer and Lena Dunham also intersect. Inspired by the lines of drawing or illustration, she creates urban figures, famous or anonymous; real or appeared friends after reading a comic book or novel. She leaves a trace of childhood with her DIY tools; it marks the land of the richness of a pop culture.

Maude's sculptures are not fixed by the earth, on the contrary they are moved by this organic matter. Like the comic book characters that are revealed over the boards, his own come to life once shaped and then reveal all their humanity. In this malicious universe, you will not find appearances conforming to the canons of a standardized society; You will find there characters, expressions, embodied symbols ... and it is thanks to this that everyone will be able to tell their own story ... "
