Thierry Lagalla

Thierry Lagalla is a French artist born in 1966 in Cannes. In 1983, he graduated from the School of Brossalhas. He transferred to Nice and entered the Escola de Sant Roch dau Pantai where he obtained a degree in neo- folkloric art in 1991. He lives and works in Nice.

A painter of reality, Thierry Lagalla is against the classical art he learned at school, which according to him is like a detestable formatting. He thinks this learning process is not better than self-taught work,that has led him to think outside of the box to propose a work that is crazy, funny and burlesque. The artist respond with humor and wisdom to the problems of life, preferring a wise subjectivism than a deceptive and boring universalism. The pretension to take oneself seriously worries Thierry Lagalla more than anything, a sincere and whole man with a wacky and invigorating universe.
A curious and versitile artist, he does not limit himself to painting, he draws, mimics, turns, mounts and writes with the same contagious energy.
