Biography
Tanguy Le Roy was immersed as a child in the cozy atmosphere of the studio where his father and his great uncle painted. No wonder therefore the artistic vocation of this Breton born in Brest and whose paternal roots are planted somewhere near Kersaint-Portsall.
Painting attracted him very early on. After a few lessons in the family bosom, Tanguy Le Roy studied in Fernando Perez's studio in Malaga, where he settled down some time later. The artist touches a little with all the arts (painting on silk, ceramics, work of sandstone and clay, lithographs), before opting for oil which today still constitutes the main part of his work.
The exhibitions follow one another around the world and Canadian, American, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, Austrian, Cypriot and Japanese amateurs know the very particular touch of Tanguy Le Roy. The distinctions also followed one another until between 84 and 99, nearly 20 prizes crowned the work and the know-how of the painter now installed in Paris.
