France • 1975

In search of harmony. More specifically that between the natural and the artificial. Two antagonists who ally and respect each other to shape a promising future.

Biography

My artist name is Sébastien Féry-Voignier. These are the respective names of my parents who have diametrically opposed temperaments. Duality characterizes me. I am an author-director in cinema and I am a painter. I trained in the 7th art, however I am self-taught in pictorial art. I learned by collaborating with other artists and practicing for about twenty years. Technically, I use a lot of acrylic airbrushing which allows me to optimize my effects of bursts of light. I like to paint symbolic works in a minimalist and fantasized architecture. I seek harmony between the natural and the artificial.

Between the natural and the artificial, I cannot choose. I need both as much as the other. It is up to us to find the best alloy. In search of harmony. More particularly that between the natural and the artificial. Two antagonists who ally and respect each other to shape a promising future. My artistic approach is therefore optimistic.

My gimmicks are: The bursts of light, the sphere (symbol of life and harmony), the "trompe l'oeil" details, reliefs or hollows, my signature as an integral part of the work. My recurring color ranges are blue and yellow.

Inspired by many artists of all genres, my quest strives to create symbolic and emblematic works. If only to sublimate the importance of art in the world and in a human life. I like to convince myself that a work of art generates a spiritual power.

I recently heard this in a movie dialogue: "Amateurs seek the sun, woe betide them. Power, on the other hand, remains in the shadows."

So I consider myself an amateur who in the darkness never stops looking for the light. This glimmer called "hope" that allows me to invent, evolve and love. An amateur who only wants to share this thrill. The one that gives us the strength to stay standing.
