Pierre Massé, also knows as RP (R-Pi in French), is a French artist born in Le Mans. His relationship with visual art began with graffiti in the 90s. He subsequently became a letter painter, graphic designer until be creative director of an advertising agency. He is currently based in a workshop near Paris .
He is recognized for simply geometric and colorful forms, highlighted by hard edge dripping.
He likes to call it « Sharp Dripping ». His drips are singular expression of several things... they can be a nod to graffiti and street culture, or an illustration of our times. And sometimes they're just a simple geometrical shape.
He likes to say « Going over the lines, but properly... ».
Like an extension of him, it springs from sincerity and aims for harmony and alignment. It's the fruit of ceaseless experimentation involving drawing, painting, engraving, and collage.
