Biography
After studying applied art and working as a graphic designer and painter, I now devote myself fully to painting and sculpture.
My work is based on a graphic universe made of shapes and connections. I imagine the encounter of blocks that collide and blend, creating new planes and other perspectives.
My painting offers a journey between cubic forms and freer expressions. I seek the instinctive, while offering keys through progression and interweaving, which can be brutal or more organic. I also work with transparencies, with a predilection for white, which masks and reveals a new perspective.
Each painting is a kind of self-portrait. Brutal, geometric, or more sensual, illustrating the reflection of my current emotions. Each end of a series inspires the next series.
For me, abstraction is a call to pure emotion, without graphic aids, without overly simple references to the existing.
I work, alongside and as a reflection of my paintings, with ceramics. In this practice, I work with a brutal balance of forms, and a softness of ceramics mirroring the matte black color of my sculptures. It is, for me, a logical complement to my work as a painter.
