Lydi

As an artist, Lydi works with acrylics on all supports, including high grain canvases. Natural, spontaneous, she paints as she breathes. Pictorial painting, modern, current, each of her paintings is a fragment, a snapshot of printed life which she confides to us. Introspective painting, malaise or small happinesses seized in the daily life, in the course of the situations, of the meetings, the artist, like so many prints, perfumes, delivers us secrets of women.

A wink to the seventies, like Claire Bretecher, her gallery of portraits, characters, testifies to their ways of being, their concerns, their condition, that the author claims with humor. The intimate surfaces, shows through, questions, reveals itself with modesty. LYDI's material is emotion, she seizes its essence right on the skin, her effects are significant, surprising, moving.

From each of her works emanates a particular feeling, a freedom of tone, a communicative freshness tinged with poetry.

LYDI's compositions are mirrors, the multiple inner faces of the woman, that she is undoubtedly a little bit herself, challenge us with sensitivity.

The apparent naivety and simplicity of the drawing is only a trompe-l'oeil, under its reading at first degree, the depth is sensitive, emotional, of the order of this impalpable humanity that everyone carries in oneself.
