Szabolcs Bozó

Hungarian-born Szabolcs Bozó paints fantastical creatures that appear lifted from children's books. Much like his contemporaries Brian Belott, Leonhard Hurzlmeier, and Robert Nava, Bozó looks for creative inspiration in images made by children and the illustrations that engage them. Bozó's charming depictions of bears, elephants, and abstract cartoon characters exist as joyous expressions of color and fantasy. A self-taught artist, his vibrant colors and expressive brushworkshare space with the occasional stain or footprint left on the canvas. Bozó has exhibited his work in solo shows in London, Mallorca, and Paris. The artist has participated in the North Hill Residency in Pasadena, California and the artistic and curatorial residency program L21xFundación Camper in Mallorca, Spain.
