Hessam Abrishami (1951 - ): Hessam Abrishami is an Iranian-born American contemporary artist born in Shiraz, Iran, whose work encompasses painting, drawing, and sculpture. Encouraged by a teacher during his teenage years, Abrishami began pursuing art seriously and received national recognition in Iran before continuing his studies in Italy, where he earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Accademia di Belle Arti “Pietro Vannucci" in Perugia. After moving to the United States, he developed a distinctive style characterized by vibrant color, expressive movement, and fluid human figures, drawing inspiration from artists including Cézanne and Picasso. His paintings frequently explore themes of love, romance, music, dance, and human relationships, while his broader practice also includes abstract works and bronze sculpture. Abrishami has exhibited extensively internationally, with more than 150 solo gallery exhibitions, numerous international and museum exhibitions, and works held in private collections worldwide. He has also published retrospective books and has had his imagery featured in academic textbooks.
